Washer & Dryer Rental Agreement
Tucson & Pima County, Arizona
Agreement version: September 4, 2026
Plain-English approach: This agreement explains how weekly rent, Last Month’s Rent, repairs, moves, cancellations, service, and customer responsibilities work. Prices selected at checkout become part of the customer’s rental record.
1. Rental Equipment & Ownership
RentAWasher.com (“RentAWasher”) rents the washer and/or electric dryer identified on the Customer’s rental record (“Equipment”) for residential household use at the approved service address. The Equipment remains the property of RentAWasher at all times. The Customer does not acquire ownership by making rental payments.
The Customer may not sell, give away, loan, sublease, pledge, dispose of, conceal, transfer possession of, move to an unapproved address, modify, disassemble, or authorize repairs to the Equipment without prior approval from RentAWasher.
2. Weekly Rental Rate, Tax & Automatic Payments
The weekly rental rate shown on the Customer’s rental record is fixed for the life of the active rental while the Customer remains in good standing. Applicable sales, transaction privilege, or other legally required taxes are added to charges as required.
The Customer must maintain an approved payment method on file. Regular weekly rental payments are due each Monday. The first regular weekly payment is due on the first Monday after installation. The Customer authorizes RentAWasher and its payment processor to charge amounts due under this Agreement, including weekly rent, applicable taxes, late fees, missed-appointment fees, approved move and stair charges, customer-caused damage charges, equipment recovery charges, and other amounts properly due under this Agreement.
3. $20 Reservation Payment
A $20 Reservation Payment is due at checkout to reserve the delivery and installation request. The $20 is applied toward the Customer’s rental setup amount and is not an additional installation charge.
If the Customer cancels or changes the scheduled appointment with at least 24 hours’ notice, the $20 may be refunded or transferred to a new appointment. A cancellation or change with less than 24 hours’ notice, a missed appointment, or failure to provide access may result in the $20 being retained. If installation cannot be completed because hookups or site conditions are unsuitable, the $20 may be transferred to a new appointment after the Customer corrects the condition. If RentAWasher cancels the appointment, the Customer may transfer the payment or receive a refund.
4. Last Month’s Rent & Four-Week Rental Month
Last Month’s Rent equals four weekly rental payments. Rent is priced weekly and collected in advance every one, two, or four weeks as selected at checkout; for purposes of this Agreement, one “rental month” means four consecutive weekly rental periods, regardless of the number of Mondays in a calendar month. Some calendar months may therefore contain five weekly payment dates.
After a valid cancellation notice, Last Month’s Rent is applied toward up to four weekly rental payments during the Customer’s final rental period.
5. Ending Your Rental — Four Weeks’ Notice
There is no minimum number of regular weekly payments required before giving notice. The Customer may submit notice at any time, subject to the four-week notice period below.
The Customer must give four weeks’ notice to end the rental. Any outstanding balance remains payable and does not prevent the Customer from submitting notice. The final rental period begins on the first Monday following the date RentAWasher receives the cancellation notice. Last Month’s Rent is then applied toward up to four weekly rental payments in that final period.
If the Customer requests or agrees to an earlier pickup after valid notice is given, the Equipment may be picked up before the final four-week period ends. Early pickup does not shorten the final rental period and does not create a refund, credit, or prorated adjustment for an unused portion of Last Month’s Rent.
6. Military Deployment Exception
If an active-duty U.S. military Customer receives official deployment or permanent-change-of-station orders requiring departure from the residence with less than 30 days’ notice, RentAWasher will waive the normal one-rental-month notice requirement under this company policy. The Customer must notify RentAWasher as soon as reasonably possible and may be asked to provide documentation of the orders.
RentAWasher will arrange pickup before the required departure date when reasonably possible. After the Equipment is recovered and the account is settled, any unused portion of Last Month’s Rent will be refunded. No early-pickup penalty applies under this military exception.
7. Late Payments, Default & Equipment Recovery
If a weekly payment remains unpaid more than 48 hours after its due date, a $5 late fee will be added for that missed weekly payment. If the Customer misses two consecutive weekly payments, the account is in default. RentAWasher may terminate the rental and recover the Equipment.
If RentAWasher must recover Equipment because the account is in default, a $150 Equipment Recovery Fee will be charged. Stair handling for a default recovery is $25 per appliance, per flight, whether carried up or down, subject to the three-flight maximum.
Any Last Month’s Rent being held may be applied to past-due rent, late fees, Equipment Recovery Fees, stair charges, customer-caused damage charges, and other amounts properly due. The Customer remains responsible for any unpaid balance after those amounts are applied.
8. Normal Repairs, Replacement & Downtime Credit
Normal mechanical repairs and ordinary wear are included at no additional service or diagnostic charge. RentAWasher decides whether to repair or replace Equipment. Replacement Equipment may be a different make or model but will be reasonably comparable in function. A repair or replacement does not restart change the fixed weekly rental rate, require another Last Month’s Rent payment, or create a new rental agreement.
If any rented appliance becomes completely unusable because of normal mechanical failure and RentAWasher is unable to repair or replace it within 72 business hours after the service request is received, the Customer will receive one full week of free rent for the entire rental. For this provision, the 72-business-hour period excludes Sundays, holidays, and other days RentAWasher is closed for normal service. Delays caused by the Customer, lack of access, missed appointments, unsafe conditions, household plumbing or electrical problems, drains, dryer venting, or Customer-Caused Damage do not count toward the 72-business-hour period.
9. Customer-Caused Damage
Normal wear and ordinary mechanical failure are not charged to the Customer. If RentAWasher determines that misuse, abuse, neglect, overloading, foreign objects, unauthorized moving, unauthorized repair, tampering, pest contamination, or another Customer-caused condition requires the Equipment to be repaired or replaced, a $125 Customer Damage Fee will be charged. There is no separate service or diagnostic fee for evaluating the Equipment.
The $125 flat fee does not limit the Customer’s responsibility for theft, missing Equipment, intentional destruction, unusually severe contamination, or unusually severe damage. Those losses may be charged at the reasonable actual cost of the loss or replacement, as permitted by law.
10. Water Leaks, Mold & Property Damage
RentAWasher’s responsibility for a normal mechanical failure of the rented washer is to repair or replace the rented Equipment as provided in this Agreement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RentAWasher is not responsible for consequential water damage, flooding, moisture damage, mold, mildew, or damage to flooring, walls, cabinets, furniture, clothing, personal property, or other property arising from leaks, plumbing problems, drains, shutoff valves, customer-owned hoses or connection materials, continued use after a leak is discovered, or a mechanical failure of the Equipment, except to the extent liability cannot legally be limited.
If a leak or suspected leak is discovered, the Customer must immediately stop using the washer, shut off both the hot and cold water supply valves, and notify RentAWasher as soon as possible. The washer must not be used again until it has been inspected or repaired. The Customer is responsible for taking reasonable steps to prevent additional water or mold damage.
If the Customer will be away from the residence for an extended period, the Customer should shut off both washer water-supply valves before leaving.
11. Optional Water-Leak Protection
RentAWasher recommends additional water-leak protection for washer installations, including a washer drain pan and/or an automatic water-leak detection and shutoff device. These items are optional and may be purchased by the Customer. Checkout records whether the Customer purchases or declines the offered protection. Declining an optional device does not waive any right that cannot legally be waived.
12. Installation Materials & Customer-Owned Parts
Washer hoses, dryer cords, dryer vent materials, drain pans, leak-detection devices, adapters, and other connection materials purchased by the Customer become the Customer’s property after installation and are not part of the rented Equipment. Customer-supplied materials must be new, compatible, and approved by RentAWasher. RentAWasher may refuse damaged, worn, unsafe, or incompatible materials.
Customer-owned installation materials may be reused during a repair, replacement, or Equipment swap when RentAWasher determines they remain safe, serviceable, and compatible. Damaged, worn, unsafe, or incompatible materials must be replaced before installation is completed.
13. Installation Site & Electric Dryers Only
RentAWasher provides electric dryers only; gas dryers are not rented or installed. The Customer must provide a suitable and accessible installation location with functioning plumbing, shutoff valves, drain, appropriate electrical service, dryer outlet when applicable, dryer vent, and other required household connections.
RentAWasher does not install, repair, replace, modify, or service household plumbing, drains, gas lines, electrical wiring, breakers, panels, household dryer vents, cabinets, flooring, or building components. Installation may be postponed when hookups, access, electrical service, venting, plumbing, or surrounding conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
Standard initial delivery and installation include stair handling up to a maximum of three flights. The Customer is responsible for providing a clear and reasonably safe path to the installation area.
14. Dryer Vent & Lint Maintenance
The Customer is responsible for keeping the dryer lint filter clean and maintaining the residence’s dryer vent and exhaust system in a safe, unobstructed condition. The lint filter should be cleaned after each load. Poor drying performance, overheating, or excessive drying time caused by a blocked, restricted, damaged, or improper household vent is not a mechanical failure of the rented dryer.
15. Moving the Equipment
A move does not terminate the rental or create a new rental agreement. The existing rental rate, payment history, and Last Month’s Rent remain in effect.
RentAWasher includes one approved Equipment move during each 12-month period at no charge. The Customer must give at least 30 days’ advance notice. The new residence must remain within RentAWasher’s current service area and be no more than 40 driving miles from the current service address. The Equipment must be disconnected at the old residence, transported directly to the approved new residence, and reinstalled on the same day and during the same scheduled service trip. Both residences must be accessible and the new residence must have suitable hookups ready for installation. A maximum of three flights of stairs is permitted at either location. Unused included moves do not accumulate or carry over.
A second or later approved move during the same 12-month period is charged a $150 Move Fee, plus $25 per appliance, per flight of stairs, whether carried up or down.
Customer Self-Move Option: With prior approval, the Customer may transport the Equipment to an approved new residence. The normal move and stair charges do not apply, but a $50 reconnection and inspection fee applies at the new residence. The Customer is responsible for loss or damage during transport. The Equipment may not be moved to any unapproved address or storage location and may not be operated at the new address until the approved inspection/reconnection is completed.
Out-of-area moves are not available. If the new residence is outside the service area or more than 40 driving miles from the current service address, the Equipment must be returned and the rental ended under the applicable termination provisions.
16. Service Requests & Appointment Scheduling
Customers may submit service requests through the online account 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Online submission does not guarantee immediate after-hours dispatch.
After an installation, repair, replacement, move, pickup, or other service request is received, RentAWasher may send the Customer up to three available appointment windows. Standard windows are generally 8:00–11:00 AM, 11:00 AM–2:00 PM, and 2:00–5:00 PM. The Customer may select through the portal or contact RentAWasher by phone. Offered times may be released if the Customer does not respond within 24 hours, and RentAWasher may call to assist with scheduling.
If the Customer misses a scheduled service, repair, pickup, move, inspection, or other appointment without at least 24 hours’ notice, a $20 Missed Appointment Fee will be automatically charged. No missed-appointment fee applies when RentAWasher cancels or reschedules the appointment.
17. Access, Failure to Return & Missing Equipment
The Customer must provide reasonable access to the Equipment for scheduled repair, inspection, replacement, move, or pickup. The Customer remains responsible for the Equipment until it is physically returned to or recovered by RentAWasher.
If the Customer moves without approval, abandons the residence, refuses to return the Equipment, or fails to provide reasonable access for recovery after the rental has ended or the account is in default, RentAWasher may take lawful steps to recover its property. If Equipment cannot be recovered, the Customer may be responsible for the reasonable replacement value of the missing Equipment and other amounts properly due.
18. Residential Use, Pests & Unsafe Conditions
The Equipment is for normal residential household use at the approved address only and may not be used for commercial laundry service, coin-operated/shared business use, or unusually heavy or continuous commercial-type use. The Customer is responsible for water, electricity, detergent, dryer sheets, and other operating supplies.
The Customer must maintain the installation area in a reasonably clean and safe condition. Damage or contamination caused by insects, rodents, pests, excessive filth, or other unsanitary conditions is not normal wear. RentAWasher may refuse service, moving, exchange, or pickup until conditions are reasonably safe for personnel and Equipment handling.
19. Identity, Address & Installation Authority
The Customer must be at least 18 years old and provide a clear photograph of a valid government-issued photo ID before Equipment is delivered. The name on the ID must match the rental account. RentAWasher may verify the original ID at delivery and may request reasonable proof of residence when the ID address does not match the service address.
The Customer represents that they are authorized to have the Equipment delivered and installed at the service address and are responsible for obtaining any required landlord, property-manager, HOA, or other third-party permission.
20. Customer Information & Privacy
RentAWasher may collect and maintain information reasonably necessary to establish and manage the rental account, including contact information, service address, identification information and ID photograph, payment references, rental history, service records, Equipment records, photographs, and account communications. Information may be used for account administration, billing, service, fraud prevention, Equipment protection and recovery, and other legitimate business purposes.
Complete payment card numbers are processed by the payment processor and are not stored in RentAWasher’s ordinary customer records. Identification documents are kept in restricted account records and are not displayed publicly or printed on ordinary invoices or service paperwork.
21. Communications & Formal Notices
RentAWasher may communicate by email, text message, telephone, mail, and the Customer portal using the contact information on the account. The Customer is responsible for keeping contact information current.
Formal cancellation or move notices may be provided through the Customer portal, by email, by telephone directly to RentAWasher, or by mail. Any formal notice sent by mail must use a service that provides a tracking number and delivery confirmation. A mailed notice is effective when RentAWasher receives it, not when it is mailed.
22. Transfer to Another Customer
This rental agreement may not be transferred to another person. If another person wishes to keep the Equipment, that person must be approved by RentAWasher and sign a new rental agreement. The new Customer is subject to the then-current rental terms, including Last Month’s Rent, approved payment method, and other applicable policies. The original Customer remains responsible until the original account is properly settled and RentAWasher approves the change.
23. Authorized Contact, Customer Incapacity or Death
The Customer may provide an optional authorized or emergency contact. Merely being listed as a contact does not make that person responsible for rent or Equipment unless the person separately agrees in writing.
If the Customer is unable to manage the rental because of hospitalization, incarceration, eviction, death, or another serious circumstance, RentAWasher may work with an authorized contact, household member, legal representative, estate representative, property manager, or other appropriate person to arrange lawful access and Equipment recovery. A cooperative pickup after a Customer’s death is treated as a normal pickup and does not automatically create an Equipment Recovery Fee.
24. Insurance Recommendation
RentAWasher strongly recommends that the Customer maintain renters or homeowners insurance that provides appropriate personal-property and liability coverage, including coverage the Customer considers appropriate for water damage, fire, theft, and rented appliances. RentAWasher does not provide insurance for the Customer’s residence or personal property.
25. Refunds & Account Credits
Approved refunds will be returned to the original electronic payment method whenever possible. If an electronic refund cannot be completed, RentAWasher will issue a check. Cash refunds are not issued. Approved refunds are normally processed within five business days, although a bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the refund.
Rental credits, including a qualifying one-week downtime credit, are normally applied to the next scheduled rental payment unless the account is being closed.
26. General Terms
This Agreement and the Customer’s checkout/rental record contain the terms of the rental. Changes must be agreed to in writing or electronically by RentAWasher and the Customer. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent allowed by law. Arizona law governs this Agreement to the extent applicable.
Electronic acceptance, electronic records, and electronic signatures may be used to document the Customer’s agreement.
Customer Acceptance
Customer acknowledges receiving or having access to this Agreement, understands the weekly billing structure and four-week rental-month definition, and agrees to the terms selected and accepted through checkout or signature.
